Sean Lowney, 32, was convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted person, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

He will be eligible for parole after eight years, the prosecutor said.

On Aug. 11, Lowney was convicted by an Atlantic County Jury stemming from Lowney wielding a revolver at his ex-girlfriend’s house on May 17, 2021, in Atlantic City, the prosecutor said.

Due to Lowney’s "extensive and repetitive criminal history," he was eligible to be sentenced to an extended term under the persistent offender’s statute, the prosecutor said. Lowney was sentenced in accordance with that statute.
